PAY IT NO MIND: THE MARSHA P. JOHNSON FUND
The MARSHA P. JOHNSON FUND @ Safe Streets Wichita
“Pay It No Mind” is what Black trans rights pioneer Marsha P. Johnson would say is the meaning of her middle initial. The Marsha P. Johnson Fund at Safe Streets Wichita finds inspiration in Marsha’s message and her radical empathy, generosity, acceptance, and kindness by aiming to support the direct material needs of BIPOC queer and trans folx living in and around Wichita, Kansas.
With the fund we are currently able to provide one-time assistance of up to $150 to help cover the following kinds of expenses:
-
BASIC CARE EXPENSES such as groceries, hygiene products, co-pays on medication and medical appointments, medical devices, affirming clothing and undergarments, emergency contraception and harm reduction supplies.
-
LIVING EXPENSES such as rent/mortgage, renter’s and home insurance, home and appliance repair, utilities, laundry, legal expenses, and infant and child care.
